APTR is invited to appoint residents to serve in the AAMC Organization of Resident Representatives (ORR). Appointed residents are asked to bring the preventive medicine specialty perspective of fellow resident trainees to the deliberations of the ORR. The AAMC Organization of Resident Representatives (ORR) was established to:

  • Provide a venue for residents to offer input into the development of AAMC policy
  • Represent the resident physician perspective in the deliberations of matters before the AAMC
  • Offer leadership opportunity for residents interested in academic medicine
  • Extend professional development activities to aspiring academic physicians at national meetings

What is covered?

As an ORR member, all travel and meeting related expenses associated with conference attendance at the AAMC annual meeting and the spring ORR CFAS spring conference are fully funded by the AAMC. Residents appointed by APTR should secure time off to attend Learn Serve Lead 2017: The AAMC Annual Meeting, November 3-7, 2017 in Boston, MA.
